INTERACTIVE CASE REPORT: Case of bronchial carcinoid tumor masked by endobronchial aspergillosis

Endobronchial aspergillosis is a rare disease entity with pulmonary involvement of aspergillosis. Endobronchial aspergillosis is usually incidentally detected in patients with underlying lung disease and also in immunocompetent patients. The association of carcinoid tumors with aspergillosis is rare and has been reported in six other cases thus far. When an endobronchial tumor is associated with aspergillosis colonization, it may often be confused with simple endobronchial aspergillosis. Herein, we describe a case of an endobronchial carcinoid tumor with superimposed aspergillus colonization.

Endobronşiyal aspergillozis, aspergillus enfeksi-yonlarının pulmoner tutulumlarının oldukça nadir görülen bir formudur ve genellikle altta yatan akciğer hastalığı olan normal immün sisteme sahip hastalarda saptanır. Endobronşiyal aspergillozis ile ilişkili bronşiyal karsinoid tümörler nadir görülür ve şimdiye kadar literatürde altı olguda bildirilmiştir. Endobronşiyal tümörler, aspergillus kolonizasyonu ile ilişkili olduğunda, genellikle basit bir endobronşiyal aspergillozis ile karışabilir. Bu yazıda, aspergillus kolonizasyonu tarafından örtülen endobronşial karsinoid tümör olgusu sunulmuştur.
