There is a critical need for alternatives to amphotericin B as a treatment for such life-threatening fungal infections as invasive aspergillosis; because although amphotericin B is used to treat fungal infections that are resistant to other antifungal drugs, such as fluconazole and ketoconazole, there are severe toxic effects of amphotericin B include fever, chills, muscle pain, phlebitis, vomiting, potassium loss, kidney dysfunctions and anemia.
