Rarely anaphylactic reactions due to traumatic or spontaneous rupture of hepatic hydatid cyst may occur and death ensue. Therefore, timely diagnosis and treatment are very important to prevent the morbidity and mortality associated with the anaphylaxis. Nontraumatic leakage of cyst contents into the blood circulation is an uncommon triggering factor for anaphylaxis. Unless treated surgicaly, rupture can result in death.
