Intestinal Leiomyom in the Pelvis which has been Diagnosed as an Ovarial TumorYıldız Tuncay, Kadir Güzin, Dilek Öztürk, Ergun Bilgiç, Neşe YüceSSK Goztepe Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology, IstanbulSmall intestine tumors, which take place in about % 75 in the length and more than % 90 of the mucosal surface of the gastrointestinal system are very rare. % 3-6 of all benign intestine tumors and % 1 of all malign intestine tumors are colonized in the small intestine. Leiomyomas are the most seen and symptomatic benign tumors. They are asymptomatic in general but might become symptomatic by growing in mass. Symptoms then are intestinal obtstruction, bleeding, intusseption and volvulus. They rarely present themselves ind the pelvis as a tumoral mass.
