Tedavi Edilmiş Antrokoanal Poliplerde SNOT-22 İyileşmesi

Biz, cerrahi öncesi ve sonrasında hayat kalitesini belirlemek maksadıyla sinonazal sonuç testini (SNOT-22) uyguladık.
YÖNTEM ve GEREÇLER: 40 ACP, elektrikli cerrahi enstrüman ve kanin fossa kateterizasyonunu içeren cerrahi kombinasyonla eksize edildi. SNOT-22 düzeyleri cerrahiden önce ve bir ay sonra ölçülerek karşılaştırıldı.
BULGULAR: Çalışmaya tek taraflı ACP olan 22 erkek ve 18 kadın olgu dahil edildi. 14 olgu 20 yaşından genç, kalan olgular ise 15-68 yaş aralığındaydı. Ortalama takip süresi 34±20 ay idi. Takip süresince nüks gözlenmedi. Ortalama total preoperatif SNOT-22 skoru 50,61±19,21 ve ortalama total postoperatif SNOT-22 skoru 16,80±10,75 idi.
TARTIŞMA ve SONUÇ: Kombine cerrahi ACP tedavisinde iyi bir alternatiftir. Cerrahi alanın temizliğinin yanısıra, tam eksizyonla polip rekürrensi önlenmiş olur. Bu cerrahi ile hayat kalitesi üç yıl sonra bile artmış olur.
Improvement of SNOT-22 in Cured Antrochoanal Polyps

We used the Sinonasal Outcome Test (SNOT-22) to determine the quality of life before and after the surgery.
METHODS: 40 ACP are excised by a combination surgery of powered instrument and canine fossa catheterization. We measured and compared the SNOT-22 levels before and one month after the surgery.
RESULTS: 22 male and 18 female subjects with unilateral ACP are included in the study. 14 subjects were younger than 20 and the remaining subjects were between 15-68. The mean follow-up period was 34±20 months. No recurrence was observed in the follow-up period. The mean total preoperative SNOT-22 score was 50.61±19.21 and the mean postoperative SNOT-22 score was 16.80±10.75.
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: Combined powered surgery is a good alternative for ACP removal. Besides providing a clean surgical field, complete excision of the polyp prevents recurrences. This surgery significantly improves the quality of life, even after three years.
