Intracranial Tumor In a Patient With Pre-diagnosis of Eclampsia; The Importance of Differential Diagnosis

Eclampsia is accompanied by convulsions. In our case, a 32-year-old, 32-week pregnant woman who presented with generalized tonic-clonic seizures developed respiratory arrest, and then an emergency cesarean operation was performed. Since the seizures did not stop in the postoperative period, a brain tumor was diagnosed with computed tomography. Therefore, every pregnant patient with convulsion, as in our case, should not only be considered as eclampsia, but other possible causes of convulsion should also be considered in the differential diagnosis.

Eklampsi, tabloya konvülsiyonların eşlik etmesidir. Olgumuzda generalize tonik-klonik tarzda nöbet şikayeti ile başvuran 32 yaşında, 32 haftalık gebede solunum arresti gelişmiş ve sonrasında acil sezaryen operasyonu yapılmıştır. Postoperatif dönemde nöbetlerinin durmaması üzerine Bilgisayarlı Tomografi ile beyin tümörü tanısı konulmuştur. Bu nedenle olgumuzda da olduğu gibi konvülsiyon görülen her gebe hasta sadece eklampsi olarak düşünülmeyip ayırıcı tanıda olası diğer konvülsiyon nedenleri de göz önünde bulundurulmalıdır.
