Contribution of Lower Extremity Ga-68 PSMA PET / CT Imaging to Diagnosis and Treatment in Prostate Cancer
Osman Güven, Filiz Ozulker, Seray Saraçoğlu, Tamer ÖzülkerUniversity Of Health Sciences Turkey, Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşçıoğlu City HospitalINTRODUCTION: The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of routine additional acquisitions for lower extremity in the diagnosis and treatment of patients undergoing Ga-68 Prostate Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA) Positron Emission Tomography / Computed Tomography (PET / CT).
METHODS: The files of 59 prostate cancer patients who underwent additional acquisition of the lower extremities in addition to the vertex-upper thigh in Ga-68 PSMA PET / CT studies were included in the study. In our study, patients with both lower limb acquisition on clinical suspicion and with routine lower limb acquisition were included. Along with the difference in the effectiveness of the lower limb acquisition between these two arms, the efficacy and clinical utility of the additional acquisiton were evaluated in the entire sample.
RESULTS: The rate of metastasis detected in the group with lower limb acquisiton with clinical suspicion (31.1%) is higher than in the other group (7.6%). However, metastases detected in both groups do not cause changes in the treatment.
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: Considering the loss of time caused by additional acquisitons in the clinic, the radiation dose exposure of the patient and the outcomes in this study, it may be possible to say that the lower extremity acquisitons are not effective.
Alt Ekstremite Ga-68 PSMA PET/BT Görüntülemenin Prostat Kanserinde Tanı ve Tedaviye Katkısı
Osman Güven, Filiz Ozulker, Seray Saraçoğlu, Tamer ÖzülkerTürkiye Sağlık Bilimleri Üniversitesi Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşçıoğlu Şehir HastanesiGİRİŞ ve AMAÇ: Bu çalışmanın amacı Ga-68 Prostat Spesifik Membran Antijen (PSMA) Pozitron Emisyon Tomografisi/Bilgisayarlı Tomografi (PET/BT) çekilen hastalarda alt ekstremiteye yönelik ek çekimlerin tanı ve tedavideki etkinliğini değerlendirmektir.
YÖNTEM ve GEREÇLER: Ga-68 PSMA PET/BT çekilirken verteks-üst uyluk çekime ek alt ekstremite çekimi de yapılmış 59 prostat kanseri hastasının dosyaları çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Çalışmamıza hem klinik şüphe üzerine alt ekstremite çekimi yapılan hem de Sağlık Uygulama Tebliği’ne (SUT) göre rutin alt ekstremite çekimi yapılan hastalar dahil edilmiştir. Bu iki kol arasında alt ekstremite çekimin etkinliğinin farklılığı ile birlikte tüm örneklemde ek çekimin etkinlik ve klinik faydası değerlendirilmiştir.
BULGULAR: Klinik şüphe ile alt ekstremite çekimi yapılan grupta saptanan metastaz oranı (%31.1) diğer gruba(7.69) göre daha yüksektir. Ancak her iki grupta da saptanan metastazlar tedavi değişikliğine yol açmamaktadır.
TARTIŞMA ve SONUÇ: Ek çekimlerin klinikte neden olduğu zaman kaybı, hastanın doz maruziyeti ve bu çalışmadaki çıktılar göz önüne alındığında alt ekstremite çekimlerinin efektif olmadığını söylemek mümkün olabilir.
