Long-term (4years) Refractive Outcomes of Eyecryl Phakic Intraocular Lens Implantation in Myopia

INTRODUCTION: To evaluate the long term (4 years) outcomes of Eyecryl phakic intraocular lens implantation in myopia
METHODS: Medical records of patients, who had implantation of Eyecryl phakic intraocular lens implantation were retrospectively reviewed. Patients with a follow up period of 4 years were included in the study. Refractive results, endothelial cell density, vault and complications were evaluated.
RESULTS: Preoperative and postoperative spherical equivalent of manifest refraction were -12,98±3,05 and -0,72±0,86 D, respectively. The efficacy index was 1,05±0,45 and safety index was 1,51±0,53. Preoperative corrected distance visual acuity was 0,26±0,15. Postoperative uncorrected and corrected distance visual acuity were 0,27±0,21 and 0,10±0,10 respectively at the last visit (4 years). The mean vault was 570±155µ at the first month and decreased to 500±133µ at the 4th year.Endothelial cell loss was 3,9 % in the first 2 years. No significance difference was seen between 2nd and 4 years(p˃0,005). No significant cataract formation was seen.
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: Eyecryl phakic intraocular lens implantation for the correction of myopia may be a safe and effective surgical procedure.

GİRİŞ ve AMAÇ: Miyopi tedavisinde Eyecryl fakik göz içi lensi implantasyonunun uzun dönem sonuçlarını değerlendirmek.
YÖNTEM ve GEREÇLER: Eyecryl fakik göz içi lens implantasyonu yapılan hastaların dosyaları retrospektif olarak incelendi. Dört yıl takip süresi olan hastalar çaışma kapsamına alındı. Refraktif sonuçlar endotel hücre yoğunluğu, lens yüksekliği ve komplikasyonlar çalışma kapsamında değerlendirildi.

BULGULAR: Preoperative and postoperative spherical equivalent of manifest refraction were -12,98±3,05 and -0,72±0,86 D, respectively.
Manifest refraksiyonun ameliyat öncesi ve ameliyat sonrası sferik eşdeğerleri sırasıyla -12,98±3,05 ve -0,72±0,86 D idi.
Ameliyat öncesidüzeltilmiş görme keskinliği 0,26±0,15 idi. Ameliyat sonrası 4. yılda düzeltilmemiş ve düzeltilmiş görmek keskinlikleri 0,27±0,21 ve 0,10±0,10 olarak bulundu. Ortalama lens yüksekliği 1. ayda 570±155µ idi ve 4. yılda 500±133µ' a düşmüştü. Endotel hücresi yoğunluğundaki kayıp 2. senede %3,9 idi. İkinci ve 4. yıllar arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı entotel hücresi yoğunluğu kaybı görülmedi. (p>0.05). Hiçbir hastada görme keskinliğini düşürecek katarakt gelişimi saptanmadı.

TARTIŞMA ve SONUÇ: Miyopi tedavisinde Eyecryl fakik göz içi lensi uzun dönemde etkili ve güvenli bulundu.
