No Increase In The Free Fetal Dna Level In Ectopic Pregnancy: A Preliminary Study

Objectives: The aim of this study is to diagnose ectopic pregnancy in the earliest time by measuring the cell free fetal DNA (ff DNA) level in maternal blood with spectrophotometric method.
Material and Methods: 30 patients with ectopic pregnancy and 30 patients with first trimester intrauterine pregnancy were enrolled in this prospective controlled study. Free fetal DNA level in maternal serum were measured by using spectrophotometric method.
Results: There was not any difference between two groups in terms of ff DNA absorbance level.
Conclusions: Spectrophotometric method is not suitable for measuring ff DNA level to diagnose ectopic pregnancies in the early period. Practical and cost-effective methods should be found or larger patient series should be researched.

Ektopik Gebelik tanisinda Serbest Fetal DNA'nin yeri: Ön Hazirlik Calismasi

Amaç: Ektopik gebelik tanisinin erken dönemde spektrofotometrik yġntemle anne kanindan serbest fetal DNA ġlçülerek konulmasi.
Gereç ve Yöntemler: Bu prospektif kontrollu calismada 30 adet ektopik gebelik tanisi almis hasta ile 30 adet ilk trimester intrauterin gebe serbest fetal DNA degerleri acisindan spektrofotometrik yontem kullanilarak karsilastirildi.
Bulgular: Iki grup arasinda istatiksel olarak anlamli fark bulunmadi
Sonuc: Spektorfotometrik yontemle fetal serbest DNA olcumu ucuz ve basit bir yontem olmasina ragmen ektopik gebeligin erken tanisinda yararli bulunmamistir, PCR ya da daha hassas sitogenetik arastirmalar kullanilabilir ancak maliyet etkinligi acisindan uygun olmayabilir.
