Sweep Görsel Uyarılmış Potansiyeller Testi ile Subjektif Görme Keskinliği Arasındaki Uyumun Değerlendirilmesi

Amaç
Bu çalışmanın birincil amacı, sweep VEP (sVEP) yöntemi ile elde edilen görme keskinliğinin Snellen eşeli ile elde edilen görme keskinliği ile uyumunu değerlendirmektir. İkincil amaç, yaş ve cinsiyetin uyum üzerindeki etkisini incelemektir.
Gereç ve yöntemler
Olguların en iyi düzeltilmiş görme keskinlikleri Snellen eşeli ile kaydedildi ve ISCEV önerilerine göre sVEP testi yapıldı. Snellen görme keskinlikleri ve sVEP ölçümleri, istatistiksel analiz için logMAR dönüşümü kullanılarak analiz edildi. Uyum, Bland-Altman analizi ile değerlendirildi.
Bulgular
Bland-Altman analizinde, görme keskinliği ve sVEP ölçümleri arasındaki ortalama fark (diff-VA-sVEP) önemli ölçüde farklıydı ve uyum limitleri dışındaydı (p=0.035). diff-VA-sVEP ve ortalama görme keskinliği arasında yapılan regresyon analizinde anlamlı bir orantısal yanlılık (p=0,0007) bulundu. Cinsiyet alt gruplarının Bland-Altman analizine göre, kadın deneklerde görme keskinlikleri ile sVEP ölçümleri arasında anlamlı farklılık mevcuttu (p=0.006). Görme keskinliği ile sVEP ölçümü arasındaki farkın yaş arttıkça anlamlı olarak arttığı bulundu (R2=0.306, p<0.001, β=0.05[0.03, 0.08]).
Sonuç
Sonuç olarak, sVEP ölçümü ve görme keskinlikleri istatistiksel olarak uyuşmadı. Deneklerin kraniyal anatomisi ve endokrin farklılıkları sVEP ölçümlerini etkileyebilir. Yöntemler arasındaki fark görme keskinliği düzeyine göre değişir. Görme keskinliği yerine doğrudan sVEP sonuçlarını kullanmak doğru olmaz.
Evaluation of Agreement between Sweep Visual Evoked Potentials Test and Subjective Visual Acuity

Purpose
The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the agreement of visual acuity obtained with the sweep VEP (sVEP) method with the visual acuity obtained with the Snellen chart. The secondary objective was to examine the effect of age and gender on the agreement.
Materials and Methods
Best corrected visual acuities of subjects were recorded with the Snellen chart, and sVEP test was performed according to the recommendations of the ISCEV. Snellen visual acuities and sVEP measurements were analyzed using logMAR conversion for statistical analysis. Agreement was evaluated with Bland-Altman analysis.
Results
In the Bland-Altman analysis, the mean differences between the visual acuity and sVEP measurements (diff-VA-sVEP) were significantly different and outside the limits of agreement (p=0.035). A significant proportional bias (p=0.0007) was found in the regression analysis performed between the diff-VA-sVEP and the mean visual acuity. According to the Bland-Altman analysis of gender subgroups, there was a significant difference between visual acuities and sVEP measurements in female subjects (p=0.006). It was found that the difference increased significantly with increasing age between visual acuity and sVEP measurement (R2=0.306, p<0.001, β=0.05[0.03, 0.08]).
Conclusions
In conclusion, sVEP measurements and visual acuities did not have statistical agreement. The cranial anatomy and endocrine differences of the subjects may affect the measurements of sVEP. The difference between the methods varies according to the level of visual acuity. It would not be correct to use sVEP results directly instead of visual acuity.
