Honeybee Sting of Cornea—A Case Report
Havva Gül ÖzdemirÇukurova University, Medicosocial Center, Adana, Turkey35 years old male patient, whose cornea of the left eye was stung by honeybee while riding a motorcycle came to our clinic with, tearing, redness, impaired vision, pain and foreing body sensation in the eye. During the ophthalmological examination, conjunctival hyperemia, corneal foreign body at 2-3 hours position with a surrounding dense stromal edema, ++ tyndal in anterior chamber was observed. After the complete removal of the sting, the patient received medical treatment and have been followed for 6 months. At the end of the 6th month, despite the complete removal of the foreign body (sting) without any corneal damage, still there was a nephelion on and around the stung site.

Havva Gül ÖzdemirÇukurova Üniversitesi, Medikososyal Merkezi, AdanaMotorsikletle giderken sol gözüne arı çarpan 35 yaşındaki erkek hasta; gözünde ağrı, sulanma, kızarıklık, batma hissi ve görmede bulanıklık şikayeti ile başvurdu. Hastanın yapılan oftalmolojik muayenesinde sol gözde konjonktival hiperemi, korneada saat 2 ilâ 3 hizasında, limbusa 1 mm uzaklıkta yabancı cisim (arı iğnesi) ve etrafında yoğun stromal ödem, ön kamarada (++) tindal mevcuttu. Yapılan girişimle iğnenin tamamı çıkarıldıktan sonra hastaya medikal tedavi verildi ve hasta belirli aralıklarla takip edildi. Arı iğnesi olaydan 2 saat sonra iğnede ve korneada herhangi bir zedelenme oluşturulmaksızın tamamen çıkarılmasına rağmen, 6. ayın sonunda; korneada arı iğnesinin battığı yerde nefelyon mevcuttu.
