Artisan iris-claw aphakic intraocular lens implantation for crystalline lens subluxation in children

In this case report, we reported 5 eyes of 3 children with lensectomy and Artisan iris-claw aphakic intraocular lens implantation (IOL) in the management of crystalline lens subluxation. These cases have been following with the diagnosis of homocystinuria, Weil-Marchesani syndrome and idiopathic familial ectopia lentis. Lensectomy, anterior vitrectomy and iris-claw aphakic IOL implantation was performed in all cases. Postoperative corrected visual acuity improved at least 3 or more Snellen lines in all eyes. During the postoperative follow-up period (6 months to 28 months), no complications were reported. The technique of lensectomy with anterior vitrectomy and Artisan iris-claw aphakic IOL implantation may be an alternative option for crystalline lens subluxation in children.

Bu olgu sunumunda, saydam lens subluksasyonu nedeniyle lensektomi ve Artisan iris kıskaçlı afakik göz içi lens (GİL) implantasyonu yapılan 3 çocuğun 5 gözü rapor edildi. Olgular homosistinüri, Weil-Marchesani sendromu ve idiyopatik ailesel lens ektopisi tanılarıyla izlenmekteydi. Tüm olgulara lensektomi, ön vitrektomi ve iris kıskaçlı afakik GİL implantasyonu yapıldı. Postoperatif düzeltilmiş görme keskinliği tüm gözlerde Snellen eşeline göre 3 veya daha fazla sıra artış gösterdi. Cerrahi sonrası takip süresince (6 aydan 28 aya kadar) herhangi bir komplikasyon rapor edilmedi. Lensektomi, ön vitrektomi ve Artisan iris kıskaçlı afakik GİL implantasyonu tekniği çocuklarda saydam lens subluksasyonu için alternatif bir tedavi seçeneği olabilir.
