Epibulbar osseous choristoma

PURPOSE: To report clinical and histopathological features of an epibulbar osseous choristoma.
METHOD: Retrospective rewiev of records, photograph, and histopathological findings in a case of epibulbar osseous choristoma.
RESULTS: A 19-year-old male had a subconjunctival mass in the superotemporal quadrant of the right eye. An excisional biopsy was performed. The histopathologic examination of the lesion revealed a heterotopic ossification.
CONCLUSION: Epibulbar osseous choristoma should be considered by ophthalmologists in the evaluation of conjunctival masses.

AMAÇ: Epibulber osseöz koristoma olgusunda klinik ve histopatolojik bulguları sunmak.
YÖNTEM: Bir epibulber osseöz koristoma hastasında muayene kayıtları, fotoğraf ve histopatolojik inceleme bulguları gözden geçirildi.
BULGULAR: Ondokuz yaşında erkek hastanın sağ gözünde üst temporal kadranda subkonjonktival kitle mevcuttu. Eksizyonel biyopsi uygulandı. Lezyonun histopatolojik incelemesinde heterotopik ossifikasyon saptandı.
SONUÇ: Konjonktival kitlelere yaklaşımda nadir görülen epibulber osseöz koristoma da göz önünde bulundurulmalıdır.
