The Effect of Nd: Yag Laser Capsulotomy on Visual Acuity, Intraocular Pressure, Central Corneal Thickness and Refractive Status

Purpose: To evaluate visual acuity intraocular pressure,central corneal thickness and spherical equivalent differences pre-and post-Nd: YAG laser capsulotomy
Materials and Methods: This study included 68 patients (40 men,28 women) who had posterior capsule opacification underwent Nd: YAG lazer capsulotomy,with a minimal energy and shooting number lazer capsulotomy. Visual acuity (BCVA), intraocular pressure (IOP), central corneal thickness(CCT) and spherical equivalent(SE) were measured before and 1. week, 1. and 3. month after laser capsulotomy. The post-treatment measurements were compared with pre-treatment measurements statistically.
Results: There were statistically significant differences between before and the post-laser BCVA values at 1 week, 1 month, and 3 months(p<0.05).There were no statistically significant differences between 1 week,1 month and 3 months(p>0.05).
There were statistically significant differences between before and the post-laser SE values at 1 week, 1 month, and 3 months(p<0.001). There were no statistically significant differences between 1 week,1 month and 3 months(p=0.068 and p=0.541 respectively). There were statistically significant differences between before and the post-laser CCT values at 1 week, 1 month, and 3 months(p<0.001). There were no statistically significant differences between 1 week,1 month and 3 months(p=0.296 and p=0.304 respectively). There were statistically significant differences between before and the post-laser İOP values at 1 week, 1 month, and 3 months(p<0.001). There were no statistically significant differences between 1 week,1 month and 3 months(p=0.438 and p=0.664 respectively).
Conclusion: Substantial changes were observed at visual acuity intraocular pressure,central corneal thickness and spherical equivalent who had posterior capsule opacification underwent Nd: YAG lazer capsulotomy esspecialy at first postoperative week.
Nd: Yag Lazer Kapsülotominin Görme Keskinliği, Göz İçi Basıncı, Santral Kornea Kalınlığı ve Refraktif Duruma Etkisi

Amaç: Neodymium: yttrium-aluminum-garnet (Nd: YAG) lazer kapsülotomi öncesi ve sonrasında görme keskinliği, göz içi basıncı (GİB), santral kornea kalınlığı (SKK), ve sferik ekivalan (SE) değişimlerinin değerlendirilmesi.
Gereç ve Yöntem: Arka kapsül kesafeti bulunan 68 (40 erkek, 28 kadın) hastanın 68 gözü çalışmaya dahil edildi. Gereken en az enerji ve şut sayısıyla Nd: YAG lazer kapsülotomi uygulandı. İşlem öncesi ve sonrasında 1. hafta, 1. ay ve 3. ay tüm hastalara en iyi düzeltilmiş görme keskinliği (EDGK), SE, GİB ve SKK ölçümleri yapıldı. Veriler istatistiksel olarak analiz edildi.
Bulgular: Lazer sonrası görme keskinliklerinde lazer öncesine göre artış gözlendi.Lazer öncesi ve laser kapsülotominin 1. ay ve 3. ay sonrası sonuçlar arasında anlamlı bir artış mevcuttu (p<0.05). Laser kapsülotominin 1. haftası ile 1. ay ve 3. ay sonrası sonuçlar arasında anlamlı fark yoktu (p>0.05 ). Lazer öncesi ortalama SE değerlerinde laser sonrasına göre hipermetropik yöne kayma izlendi. Lazer öncesi ve laser kapsülotominin 1. hafta, 1. ay ve 3. ay sonrası sonuçlar arasında anlamlı bir artış mevcuttu (p<0.001). Lazer kapsülotominin 1. haftası ile 1. ay ve 3. ay sonrası sonuçlar arasında anlamlı fark yoktu (p=0.068 ve p=0.541 sırasıyla ). Lazer öncesi ortalama SKK ve laser kapsülotominin 1. hafta sonrası sonuçlar arasında anlamlı bir artış mevcuttu (p<0.001). Lazer öncesi ve laser kapsülotominin 1. ay ve 3. ay sonrası sonuçlar arasında anlamlı fark yoktu (p=0.296 ve p=0.304 sırasıyla). Lazer öncesi GİB ölçümü ve lazer kapsülotominin 1. hafta sonrası sonuçlar arasında anlamlı bir artış mevcuttu (p<0.001). Lazer öncesi ve lazer kapsülotominin 1. ay ve 3. ay sonrası sonuçlar arasında anlamlı fark yoktu (p=0.438 ve p=0.664 sırasıyla).
Sonuç: Nd: YAG lazer arka kapsülotomi yapılan hastalarda özellikle ilk hafta da görme keskinliği, GİB, SKK ve SE değerlerinde önemli değişiklikler izlenmektedir.
