GİRİŞ ve AMAÇ: Çocuk acil serviste değerlendirilen ergenlerin stres faktörleri ile anksiyete ve kaygı düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiyi araştırmak amaçlanmıştır. YÖNTEM ve GEREÇLER: Çocuk acil servise başvuran ve kronik ya da psikiyatrik bir hastalığı olmayan 10-18 yaş arası ergenler çalışmaya alındı. Aile içinde ölüm ve anne-baba ayrılığı / boşanma gibi stres faktörleri ile, iğne olmak, kan görmek/kan aldırmak veya soyunma korkusu gibi yatkınlaştırıcı faktörleri değerlendiren kişisel bilgi formu uygulandı. Çocuklar için anksiyete bozukluğunu tarama ölçeği, anlık ve sürekli kaygı ölçekleri ile kısa semptom envanteri ölçekleri uygulandı. BULGULAR: Çalışmamızda %57.0‘si (n=73) kız olmak üzere 128 kişiye ulaşıldı. Katılımcıların yaş ortalamaları 13.3±2.4 yıl idi. Belirlenen 8 stres faktör arasında en yüksek oranda kendisine yakın arkadaşı olmama ve son 6 ay içinde okul değişimi (%17.2) bulundu. Yatkınlaştırıcı 9 faktörden en yüksek %53 ağrı çekme korkusu saptandı. Katılımcıların ÇABTÖ ortalaması 29.5±12.1 puan, STAI-I ortalaması 42.8±7.0 puan, STAI-II ortalaması; 44.9±6.4 puan, KSE toplam puan ortalaması 37.6±34.6 puan idi. TARTIŞMA ve SONUÇ: Acil servis deneyimi özellikle ergen yaş grubunda korku ve endişeye neden olabilir. Acil servis çalışanları ergenlerde kaygı azaltmaya yönelik davranışsal müdahaleler geliştirmelidir.

INTRODUCTION: To determine the relationship between the stress indicators, and the presense of anxiety and anxiety levels among the pediatric emergency patients who are aged between 10 and 18 years. METHODS: The study group consisted of adolescents aged between 10 and 18 years, admitted to pediatric emergency service who do not have any chronic or psychiatric disease. The questionnaires that evaluating predisposing factors such as life death in the family and parental seperation or divorce, fear of injection, fear of giving blood and seeing blood and being undressed; and also surveys of those The Screen for Child Anxiety and related Disorders, State-Trait Anxiety Inventory and Brief Symptom Inventory were all applied. RESULTS: In our study, 57% (n=73) of the participants were female. The mean age of the participants was 13.3 ± 2.4. Among the eight stress factors identified, the highest rated ones were absence of close friends and changing school in the last 6 months (17.2%). The most fear of pain was found to be 53% of the most predisposing factors. The mean Screen for Child Anxiety score was 29.5 ± 12.1 points. The mean State-Trait Anxiety Inventory score were 42.8 ± 7.0, 44.9 ± 6.4. The mean total score of Brief Symptom Inventory was 37.6 ± 34.6 points DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: Experience of emergency service may cause fear and anxiety among the young patients aged between 10 and 18 years. Emergency service workers should develop behavioral interventions to reduce anxiety among this patient group.
