INTRODUCTION: It was conducted to determine the burnout level and associated factors of nurses working in a university hospital.
METHODS: The study was designed as a cross-sectional study using the Maslach Burnout Inventory, SF-36 quality of life form and Beck Depression Scale among the nurses working at Erciyes University between April-May 2017.
RESULTS: Of the 44 nurses who participated in the study, 14 (31.8%) were in the Child Intensive Care Unit while the remaining 30 (68.2%) were working in other services. 31.8% were in the age group 25-29, 31.8% in the age group 30-34, 13.6% in the age group 35-39 and 22.8% in the age group ≥ 40 years. Their mean age was 30.5 years. Service nurses' emotional role strength scores were significantly higher than intensive care nurses (p=0.039). At the same time, intensive care nurses were also better in terms of social functioning than service nurses (p=0.049). Working in the intensive care unit increased the decrease in personal achievement (OR 2,13,% 95, CI 1,21-3.84) by 2.13 times, and it was found that it increased the depersonalization (OR 1,8, % 95, CI 1.07-3.34) by 1.8 times. In multiple regression analysis working in the intensive care unit increased the decrease in personal achievement (OR 2,07, % 95, CI 1.17-3.74) 2.07 times, and it was found that it increased the depersonalization (OR 1,76, % 95, CI 1.12-3.21) 1.76 times again.
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: Nurses working in intensive care units are one of the most risky working groups in terms of burnout syndrome due to the stressful working environment as well as the intense work conditions. For this reason, it may be suggested to evaluate the PICU nurses at certain intervals and to improve the working conditions according to the obtained results and to give training to cope with burnout syndrome.

Erci̇yes Üni̇versi̇tesi̇ Çocuk Yoğun Bakım Üni̇tesi̇

GİRİŞ ve AMAÇ: Bir üniversite çocuk hastanesinde çalışan hemşirelerin tükenmişlik düzeyini ve ilişkili faktörleri belirlemek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir.
YÖNTEM ve GEREÇLER: Araştırma, Nisan-Mayıs 2017 tarihleri arasında Erciyes Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi'nde çalışan hemşireler arasında Maslach Tükenmişlik Ölçeği, SF-36 yaşam kalitesi formu kullanılarak kesitsel bir çalışma şeklinde tasarlanmıştır.
BULGULAR: Çalışmaya katılan 44 hemşirenin 14’ü (% 31,8) Çocuk Yoğun Bakım Ünitesinde, geri kalan 30’u (%68,2) ise diğer servislerde çalışmaktaydı. % 31,8'i 25-29 yaş,% 31,8'i 30-34 yaş,% 13,6'sı 35-39 yaş ve% 22,8'i ≥ 40 yaşındaydı. Yoğun bakım ünitesinde çalışmak kişisel başarıda azalmayı (OR 2,13,% 95, CI 1,21-3.84) 2,13 kat arttırırken, duyarsızlaşmayı (OR 1,8, % 95, CI 1.07-3.34) 1,8 kat arttırdığı tespit edilmiştir. Çoklu lojistik regresyon analizi ile yoğun bakım ünitesinde çalışmak yine kişisel başarıda azalmayı (OR 2,07, % 95, CI 1.17-3.74) 2,07 kat arttırırken, duyarsızlaşmayı (OR 1,76, % 95, CI 1.12-3.21) 1,76 kat arttırdığı saptanmıştır.
TARTIŞMA ve SONUÇ: Yoğun bakım ünitelerinde çalışan hemşireler gerek stresli iş ortamı gerekse de yoğun çalışma temposu nedeniyle tükenmişlik sendromu açısından en riskli çalışan gruplarından birisidir. Bu nedenle ÇYBÜ hemşirelerinin belli aralıklarla değerlendirilip, elde edilen sonuçlara göre çalışma koşullarının iyileştirilmesi ve tükenmişlik sendromuyla baş etme eğitiminin verilmesi önerilebilir.
